So Praba calls me this morning and says “Let’s fly somewhere!” That’s all I needed to hear! He was thinking Kansas City for some BBQ, but the severe storms were covering the entire center of the country.
We did, however have a nice clear window between St. Paul and Oshkosh! People are starting to talk about Airventure on the the VAF forums, so I’d had Oshkosh on my mind anyways. Neither Praba or I had been to the EAA Museum, so off we went! A smooth hour and fifteen minutes later, we were landing at KOSH. We pulled into the Orion FBO, and the guy working there named Chris gave us a ride to the museum at the other side of the airport.
The Museum is free to EAA members, which Praba and I are. It’s a very cool place to visit. You can easily spend 3-4 hours looking at all sorts of aircraft, from full scale models of Space Ship One and the Rutan Voyager, to lots of flying examples of vintage, antique, and war birds.
Unfortunately, I only got a few pictures, as I was distracted by all the awesome things to see!
A quick 1.5 hour flight and we were home. Perfect day trip!
