Gear Leg Fairings

Hours Worked = 3

Today, I got the gear leg fairings cut to shape.

I started by making sure the fairings didn’t have any twist in them with a square that I screwed to my work bench.

After that, it was simply a matter of marking up the fairings with the template supplied in the plans, and cutting along the lines.

Then I did a little sanding on the wheel pants. After a bit, I realized how much easier the random orbital sander would be, and switched to that!

And finally, I marked up the piano hinge pieces that will be used to secure the rear edge of the leg fairings.
