Well, it’s been a few days, and it’s time to rivet up the first aileron’s trailing edge.
After cleaning up the holes, I popped in a few rivets and squeezed them with a die that’s been ground down to account for the angle of the trailing edge. I also made sure to rivet in a random pattern. If you start at one end and work your way to the other, you can develop a bow. When I was done, I sighted down the trailing edge, and it’s nice and straight!
With the first aileron done, I prosealed up the trailing edge of the second aileron. I could only do one at a time, as I only have the one piece of angle iron.
Today’s video is going to be in the next post, as I also worked on the gap fairings. Multiple posts per day is one downfall of using the blog to track time per category!
